Next Generation Science Standards
Dr. Kimbrell asked the SBE for approval for Arkansas to help lead an effort to make uniform requirements for science throughout the country, similar to Common Core for English language arts and math. He said ADE staff could lend their help and expertise.
“We’ve got lots to do but boy I’d hate to be on the back end of some of these things,” Kimbrell said. “We’ve got to have a seamless move from high schools to our colleges.”
SBE member Brenda Gullett said, “I think it’s exciting. I move that Arkansas be a part of this.”
The motion carried.
