High stakes exam administered this week
This week will be the first time for the Algebra I End-of-Course Exam to also serve as a “high stakes” exam, meaning that a student must pass the Algebra I exam to receive credit for the Algebra I course. If a student doesn’t pass the first time – and remember, the bar for passing is lower than it is for proficient – he or she has three additional opportunities to obtain that passing score. A student must have credit for Algebra I to graduate, hence, the “high stakes” designation. Good luck to all of you involved with these important exams this week.
