AAIMS adds eight more schools
Governor Mike Beebe announced today that eight more high schools have been selected to participate in the Arkansas Advanced Initiative for Math and Sciences (AAIMS): Jonesboro, West Memphis, Conway, Arkadelphia, Sheridan, Smackover, Rison and KIPP Delta Collegiate Preparatory High School in Helena-West Helena. The addition of these schools makes for a total of 31 schools in Arkansas committed through the organization to increasing both participation and performance in Advanced Placement mathematics, science and English courses.
AAIMS is funded with a $13.2 million grant from the ExxonMobil Corps.’ National Math and Science Initiative and also received a $2.9 million grant from the Walton Family Foundation of Bentonville.
